psi to kPa
This is a straight unit conversion between psi, kPa and bar. It does not know whether your reading is gauge or absolute — keep every pressure you are comparing on the same reference, and trust the equipment plate for the rated figure.

Worked example
A tyre placard says 32 psi. Multiply by 6.894757: 32 × 6.894757 ≈ 221 kPa, or about 2.21 bar. A hydraulic ram rated 3000 psi is 3000 × 6.894757 ≈ 20 684 kPa — roughly 207 bar.
The formula
kPa = psi × 6.894757 · bar = kPa ÷ 100
A pascal is one newton per square metre; a psi is one pound-force per square inch. The 6.894757 factor is just those two force-and-area definitions reconciled. Bar is defined as exactly 100 kPa, which is why moving between kPa and bar is only a decimal shift.

- How do I convert psi to kPa?
- Multiply the psi figure by 6.894757. So 100 psi is about 689 kPa, and 30 psi in a tyre is roughly 207 kPa. This tool carries the full factor and shows bar as well, since gauges on this side of the shop are marked in all three.
- What is 1 bar in psi?
- One bar is 100 kPa, which works out to about 14.5 psi. Bar is handy because it sits within a rounding error of one atmosphere, so a tyre at 2 bar is close to 29 psi. Type any of the three boxes here and the other two follow.
- Is kPa the same as kg/cm²?
- No, though old gauges sometimes mix them. One kg/cm² is about 98.07 kPa, so it is close to a bar but not identical. This tool works in psi, kPa and bar; if your gauge reads kg/cm², treat it as roughly bar and confirm against the equipment plate.
- Does this handle vacuum or negative pressure?
- The arithmetic works on any number you type, including negatives, but gauge and absolute pressure are different reference points. If you are working in vacuum or absolute terms, make sure every figure you compare uses the same reference before you convert.
